Canadian.Ventures is a start-up advisory service that helps founders build new ventures in a deliberate order: customer discovery, a scoped first version, a go-to-market routine and the early operations that hold it together. It is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian consulting group headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and it is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA.

Why this service exists

We started Canadian.Ventures because the same expensive mistake kept showing up in founders' first year: building before asking.

The pattern looks similar across industries. A founder spends savings on a website, a brand, an app or inventory, then starts looking for customers. When the customers don't arrive at the expected rate, the money is already committed and the product is hard to change. Most of the founders we meet have worked hard. What they missed was an inexpensive check at each stage before the next, larger commitment.

So this service does one thing. It helps you prove each step, cheaply and in writing, before you pay for the next one. We don't run a programme with cohorts and demo days, and we don't make introductions to investors. We sit beside the founder and do the building work in the right order.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi leads every engagement. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has more than 17 years of experience in digital marketing, growth and technology, beginning in 2007 when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency.

Since then he has built companies and new brands from the ground up:

  • Founder of Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency.
  • Founder of MyAutomation.ca.
  • Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone), the group's Canadian firm for strategy, AI and revenue-acceleration work.
  • More than 150 live HVAC websites built, including new brands such as GasBoilers.ca, launched as a gas-boiler division for CANRO Heat.

He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and he lives and works in Vancouver. Profiles: Sedighi.ca and BusinessConsulting.ca.

Where we sit in the group

The group has several specialised services, and each one stays in its lane.

  • Sedighi.ca is Ali's growth, marketing and technology consulting company. Under that umbrella you'll find HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca, alongside this service.
  • BusinessConsulting.ca is the parent consulting practice whose rates apply to this service.
  • SAZ.ca handles strategy, AI and revenue acceleration for established companies.
  • Canadian.Ventures covers the earliest stage: new ventures moving from idea to first customers.

If you need something earlier than building, such as a full feasibility study or a business plan for a lender, our sister service BizConsulting.ca does that work.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same working rules, whatever stage the venture is at.

  1. One question at a time. Each sprint answers a single question, such as "is the problem frequent?" or "will buyers pay this price?", and ends with a written answer.
  2. Dated and scoped. You get a written scope and end date before any paid work starts.
  3. Evidence over opinion. Buyer notes, funnel numbers and payment records outrank anyone's hunch, including ours.
  4. You own everything. Documents, accounts, code and customer lists belong to you from day one.
  5. Built for distance. We meet founders in every province and territory in person or by video call, and work by phone, text and email in between. Regional notes are on our areas pages.
  6. Plain about limits. We say when something needs a lawyer, a CPA or a licensed professional, and we stay out of that work.

What we are not

Founders deserve a clear answer to "what are you, exactly?"

In plain terms, Canadian.Ventures is a consulting service from Canada that belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. We are not investors, a fund, a lender, or an accelerator that takes equity, and we are not a securities dealer. We don't give investment, legal or tax advice, and we don't promise funding, grants or introductions. When a public program might fit your venture, we point you to the official source and let the administrator decide.

Talk to us

The first 30-minute conversation is free and carries no obligation. Look at the services to find your stage, check the pricing, then call, text or email with a few lines about what you're building and what you've tried.
